Congratulations to Radio Redhill member Bob Barnes, who has received a Mayor’s Volunteer Award!
Bob attended a special ceremony held on the 23rd September in Reigate Town Hall, along with other outstanding community volunteers. He was nominated for an award within the ‘Individual Volunteer’ category by the Radio Redhill Executive Committee.
Radio Redhill Chairman, Nigel Gray, said: “The Committee were pleased to nominate Bob in order to recognise the great contribution that he has made to the life of Radio Redhill for almost 30 years.
Bob has not only presented his weekly Classical Moments programme but has inspired many new members with his love of classical music during their training. Bob and his wife Barbara have also been actively involved in the recording of the annual Belfry Carol Service for many years.”
The annual awards recognise volunteers’ contribution and dedication to the Reigate & Banstead community, and this year were presented by the Mayor of Reigate & Banstead, Cllr. David Powell.
