Radio Redhill has been awarded joint silver in the Station of the Year category at the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) Awards 2020.
For the first time in the 50 year history of the HBA the awards were announced online as the country remains on lockdown. This is also the first time an award has been won jointly.
The judges commented that “the volunteers are great communicators and interviewers with a real warmth about their presentation and a clear desire to go above and beyond, this is hospital radio at its best.”
Radio Redhill Chairman Nigel Gray said “Winning silver is a great achievement and reflects well on the work of all the members over the last year and also on our working relationship with everyone at East Surrey Hospital.”
