Our annual countdown of the top 300 requests has been completed and for the first time two songs share the top spot. The 2018 number one, Perfect by Ed Sheeran, this year shares the top spot with the song it replaced, My Way by Frank Sinatra.
The countdown started on the 27th December and came to its conclusion on New Year’s Day, with the winning songs announced just before 5pm.
My Way has been a regualr holder of the top spot since 1998. Last year Perfect was only the 4th song to claim the crown and for the first time a song other than My Way has retained a place at the top. Another previous winner, Happy by Pharrell Williams, returned to the top ten this year reaching 9th place.
